Changes with TSA

In 2025, the TSA introduced several significant rule changes aimed at streamlining airport security and improving passenger convenience. The longstanding requirement to remove shoes during screening was officially ended as of July 8, allowing travelers to keep their shoes on at most U.S. airports, a policy shift enabled by improved security technology.

The TSA is also reviewing the traditional 3.4-ounce liquid limit and has already exempted 11 specific items from this restriction, facilitated by the deployment of advanced CT scanners that provide detailed 3D baggage imaging.

Additionally, from May 7, 2025, only REAL ID-compliant driver’s licenses or passports are accepted for domestic air travel, and non-compliant licenses will result in secondary identity checks or denial of boarding
